Mikrotik As L3 Switch (InterVLAN Routing)

Mikrotik running on PC / Routerborad 600 , can be used for InterVLAN routing .
Suppose you need 24 /48 port mikrotik server to distribute bandwidth to you customers , such that every one gets seperate port and have total isolation in terms of L2 . Using just one lan card and one managable switch L2 , you can convert mikrotik server and switch into a fully operational L3 switch .

1)connect switch cisco2950 port1 >>> Mikrotik ether1
2) create VLAN interface on mikrotik with vlan id
3) Create Trunk port on cisco 2950 on port1
3) Create vlan ports on 2950,with same vlan id as defined on mikrotik .
4) Lable each port on switch , name VLAN interface on mikrotik with customer name .
5) Define bandwidth restriction using queues in mikrotik on each vlan interface for outgoing and incomming interface .
6) You can use more then one port for one customer by adding same vlan id on more then one prot .
